Día Dos

After getting a good night sleep at the hotel we set out to explore Guatemala City. We spent time shopping at the local market, attending mass at the Catedral Metropolitana at zone 1, and enjoying a delicious lunch at San Martín. Following lunch we made a quick trip to Walmart to get some supplies on our way to Casa Emaus, our home for the next week. We got all settled into our new home just in time to enjoy another wonderful meal prepared by Ericka and Walter. After a brief meeting to prepare for the week ahead, we put together hygiene kits, funded by our St. Micheal School, to give to the families of Playa de Oro. This evening we had some free time to do some praise and worship in the chapel and play some wild games of uno. We look forward to reuniting with the people of Playa de Oro tomorrow!

What a great day of team building. It’s so awesome to get to know those who you are serving with. It was also beautiful to be able to worship and pray with them at the Cathedral. The Holy Spirit is truly present in this team and I am grateful to journey with them. Jesus, help us see as you see. - Amy Schlup (1st trip)
