Día Seis

Another beautiful day of ministry in Playa de Oro. As we finished our last day of clinic, 49 more patients brings us to a total of 121 people treated. We thank Dr. Tony for his time with us as he heads back to the states in the morning. The roof is secured, but we continue to work on painting the school. The school board had a meeting today and have found enough teachers to start school next Monday! VBS continues to be a fun time for the kids to gather, play games, and do some crafts that they can take home. Today we celebrated a couple of the kids birthdays with a treat. Making a small cake feed about 50 kids was definitely a “fish and loaves” moment. We are thankful for our time in the village thus far and look forward to finishing out the week!

Each day at Playa de Oro with the wonderful kids of the village continues to bring me more joy. Today we played so many games with kids, and I do not understand how they continue to have so much energy! After lunch, we had VBS, and it made me so happy to see the kids so excited to make another craft they can keep; we helped them pour sand on some crosses to make awesome designs. I’m excited for the rest of the trip with the team and all the amazingly kind kids. -Seth Larson (2nd trip)
